Survival of the Fittest ist ein Abenteuer- respektive Kampagnenband für die dritte Edition des Pen & Paper Rollenspiels Shadowrun. Es enthält acht einzelne Abenteuer, die zusammen das Nachfolgeritual für Dunkelzahn bilden, in dem die Runner (zunächst unwissentlich) zu Schachfiguren der Großdrachen werden.

Der Band erschien bei FanPro LLC im Mai 2004 zunächst in englischer Sprache, und wurde später von Fantasy Produktions in deutscher Übersetzung unter dem Titel "Fressen oder gefressen werden" veröffentlicht.

A New Order Declared...

The death of the great dragon Dunkelzahn kicked off a series of events that are only now reaching climax. A challenge is declared as antediluvian customs clash with the methods of the modern world. The shadowrunners are involved in a string of unrelated missions that begin to tie themselves together. From the ruins of Tehran to the jungles of Amazonia, from the towers of Hong Kong to the deep metaplanes, the machinations of a reptilian chess game begin to unfold.

Survival of the Fittest is a series of seven adventures that can be played consecutively or interwoven into an existing campaign.

Der Tod des Großen Drachen Dunkelzahn löste eine Serie von Ereignissen aus, die sich erst jetzt auf ihren Höhepunkt zubewegen. Eine Herausforderung wurde ausgesprochen, und vorsintflutliche Gebräuche treffen auf die Methoden der modernen Welt. Die Runner werden in eine Reihe zusammenhangloser Missionen verwickelt, die langsam aber sicher ein einziges Ziel herauskristallisieren. Von den theranischen Ruinen bis zum amazonischen Dschungel, von den Türmen von Hong Kong bis in die tiefsten Metasphären entfaltet sich das Bild eines gewaltigen, von unnachgiebigen Mächten vorangetriebenen Schachspiels.

Fressen oder Gefressen werden beinhaltet sieben Abenteuer, die unabhängig voneinander gespielt oder zu einer großen Kampagne zusammengefügt werden können.
