Emergence ist ein Kampagnenband für die 4. Edition von Shadowrun und ähnlich aufgebaut, wie das Buch "Systemausfall", das den Übergang von der 3. Edition zur 4. markierte.

Die Emergence-Kampagne behandelt den Prozess des öffentliche bekannt werdens des Phänomens der Technomancer und das Auftreten künstlicher Intelligenzen der zweiten Generation in der kabellosen WiFi-Matrix im Laufe des Jahres 2070, die Reaktionen von Konzernwelt, Öffentlichkeit, Medien und Schatten und die Folgen dieser Ereignisse.

Der Band ist bei Catalyst Games Lab nur in englischer Sprache erschienen, eine französische Übersetztung bei Black Book Éditions ist angekündigt. Eine Übersetzung auf Deutsch war als Emergenz angekündigt, erschien wegen der ungeklärten Frage der deutschsprachigen SR-Lizenz jedoch bislang nicht.
